Ballet Shoes & Memories
“The first step in crafting the life you want is to get rid of everything you don’t.” ― Joshua Becker
That seems simple enough, I thought, I’ll just get rid of everything in my room that doesn’t bring me joy and that will manifest joy into my life.
8 hours later, there I was crying in a ball on the floor over an old pair of dance shoes. How did I get here?
I am a very sentimental person, so holding on to things that have an emotional attachment is what I do best. I bet you can relate.

Why had this pair of heavily used but no longer used dance shoes transformed me to pile of tears?
As I got curious, I realised that in getting rid of these shoes, I imagined that I was also getting rid of the memory. That is a myth and it is simply not true.
Memories are yours. They are not attached to shoes or photos.
Memories live on in you who remembers.
I made a commitment to myself in that moment, to take my memories with me in a way that honoured them and didn’t cause me to have a mental breakdown.
It is my mission to help women find their own path to living a life worth honouring, full of memories and room for joy. And dance!
